Mama Szwed's Coffee Cookies

1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
2 tbsp. instant coffee
1/4 tsp. baking powder
Melting milk chocolate
Finely chopped walnuts, or the nuts of your choice

Cream butter and sugar; beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, coffee, baking powder and salt. Blend creamed and dry mixtures together. Use a cookie press with star plate. Drop 3-inch strips of dough on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes, then cool. Dip one end of each cookie into melted chocolate, then coat with chopped nuts.

Makes 6 1/2 dozen cookies. Hide them to enjoy later, because they disappear fast!
