A 44-year-old man from Orchard Park is facing several charges after he drove his vehicle into the Niagara River on Monday night. Jeff Silverthorn plunged his vehicle into the river after driving off the road near Random and East River Roads on Grand Island. First responders were able to rescue him, where he was then transported to the hospital and treated for hypothermia.

Silverthorn was arrested on DWI charges, refusing a breathalyzer test and a slew of other traffic violations.
