Summer is slipping away. It's so sad. If you're looking for an end of summer flick to ease back into your school days, why not try one of these. You might actually get excited about heading back to school. Alright, maybe not, but who doesn't love a good movie!

Cheryl's Top Five Movies to Take You Back to School:

Number 5: "Dangerous Minds"- Michelle Pfeiffer teaches young students at an inner city school. I love how she reaches out and finds a way to relate to the kids. I think all teachers strive to do this on some level. I imagine it's not always easy!

Number 4:  "High School Musical" - The original version is likely the most favored. Your kids will like this one better than you do. Maybe it will get them excited about seeing friends and joining teams/clubs as they go back to school.

Number 3: "The Breakfast Club"- Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy are five students in Saturday detention with nothing in common except each other. I love how the characters are all so different and how they come together. Any kid can probably see at least a little bit of themselves in this movie.

Number 2: "Grease" - John Travolta and Olivia Newton John star in this 1980's blockbuster film. I can still recall the first time I saw this movie. Remember the Holiday theatres on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga? I can still sing a few of the tunes, and always stop to watch it for at least a few minutes when given the chance!

Number 1: "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"- Matthew Broderick stars as the delinquent Ferris Bueller who miraclulously avoids trouble at each turn. Maybe this is not exactly a "back to school" movie since they're skipping class, but it is a lot of fun to watch!  I love the parade scene!

What's your favorite back to school movie?
