Ok, moms if you have never taken your kids to Fatima Shrine near Lewiston – do it this summer! Granted it's not 'Christ the Redeemer' in Rio, but the statue of Mary when you climb the steps is worth the walk up!

Two flights of stairs, 63 steps lead to the Top of the Dome, where stands the huge statue that is Our Lady of Fatima. It's 13 feet high and weighs 10 tons! Say a prayer, leave a rosary, or just check out the view of the grounds and countryside!

You can just go to visit for sure, but mass if you want to attend is at 11:30 and 4:00 every Monday-Saturday, then 9 am, Noon, and 5 pm on Sunday.

The 'blue' and 'red' candle rooms inside the church as walk around the back are amazing to see. Light a candle, say a prayer - Me and my son Derek feel extra holy anytime we go! You take the 190 North into Lewiston, follow route 18 and the signs for Fatima are in blue and obvious. Swann road, technically in Youngstown NY.

Since 1954, Our Lady of Fatima Shrine has become a place of natural beauty, art, communal prayer, and renewal to thousands who visit the unique buildings and grounds each year. The magnificence and natural beauty of the Shrine is highlighted by an awe-inspiring Dome Basilica covered with two layers of glass and Plexiglas, with a contour of the Northern Hemisphere of the globe.

The impressive approach to the Basilica is down the Avenue of the Saints (over one hundred life-size marble statues represent Saints from every race and walk of life) and around the serenity of the Rosary Pool. So when doing your 2016 calendar, add 'Fatima Shrine' to the list!
