No, it’s not The Blacklist Reborn, but give that until 2025 or so. Instead, NBC will look to spin out one of its few successful launches in recent years, setting X-Men and Hemlock Grove alum Famke Janssen to spearhead a potential backdoor pilot for a new NBC Blacklist series.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the May 5 Blacklist Season 3 outing will introduce Janssen’s Susan “Scottie” Halstead, while the May 12 outing itself will serve as the backdoor pilot to a potential spinoff. NBC won’t confirm any official talk of a new series, the decision more likely to be made toward the upfront presentations in May.

Worth noting, Justified alum Michael Dinner will helm the episode, while TVLine claims current Blacklist regular Ryan Eggold will “have a major role in the project, with Tom and Scottie’s relationship mirroring the mothership’s Liz (Megan Boone)/Red (James Spader) dynamic.”

The Blacklist has already been renewed for Season 4, but how long until NBC becomes spinoff and reboot central?
