New Change In The Move Over Law Goes Into Effect Tuesday For Garbage Trucks in WNY

The newest amendment to the Move Over Law (which requires motorists to change lanes, and/or slowing down when encountering an emergency vehicle) will now apply to garbage trucks. The law goes into effect on Tuesday.

Implementation of the law comes almost a year after a fatal accident involving an employee of Taylor Garbage in Vestal, NY. 

The law carries fines ranging from $45 - $100, and potentially 15 days in jail.
