After a grueling interview process, they chose me!

With the WNY Diversity Job Fair on Wednesday, I felt the need to post my experience with Townsquare Media. Before being hired as the new Morning Show Host on Mix 96 I was an Elementary School teacher for almost 4 years. I taught at an area Catholic school.

I had my resume on Indeed, Monster, and all of the other job sites. I would get notifications when new jobs posted. When I saw the post from Indeed.com that Townsquare Media was hiring for a morning show host, I hopped on the opportunity.

This job wanted me to make a video, write a blog, send a resume and cover letter. Definitely more than the norm. I catered my resume for this job and actually revamped my cover letter as well. I did this all in my 26 minute break at school.

I did have prior college radio experience and was extremely successful with that.

I received a call during February break to come in the next day for my first initial interview. I was floored!!!!  I was readily available. I didn't tell a single soul as I wanted this as my own and didn't want to count my chickens before they hatched.  After several phone interviews, going to the radio station 4 times within a week, they offered me the job. BUT, they HAD to of course record my knee jerk reaction. You can check out the hidden camera here:

Best of luck to all of the candidates at the WNY job fair tomorrow at the convention center!!!!!
