Beginning in July, New York State licenses will now have a new look.

The change is more of a retro look -- hard cards with a nice black and white photo of your face.

The reason for the change is because many current licenses are easy to forge. The new cards will have personal data engraved into the card and a "ghost image" of you. (A "ghost image" is a small second picture of the person that will be set in a transparent window, visible from the front and back.)

The state of Virginia already started to use these type of licenses back in 2009.
