Dinner for Schmucks

Paul Rudd and Steve Carell share the screen in the comedy "Dinner for Schmucks," new to video this week. Rudd plays Tim, an ambitious executive who reluctantly agrees to participate in a dinner party organized by his boss for so-called idiots.  Tasked with finding an odd bird to bring as his guest, Tim invites a good-hearted nerd named Barry.  Before long, it's Tim who feels like "the schmuck."  Carell plays Barry. Zach Galifianakis, Jermaine Clement, Ron Livingston, and Bruce Greenwood also star.

Extras include the featurette "The Biggest Schmucks in the World," a gag reel, and deleted scenes. Also available on Blu-Ray Disc, which adds additional featurettes and a LeBron James press conference spoof. (Paramount).

The Last Exorcism

The sleeper hit "The Last Exorcism" is now on video.  Filmed as a documentary, this horror-thriller stars Patrick Fabian as Cotton Marcus, a minister who allows a crew to follow him as he takes on his last-ever exorcism.  Ashley Bell, Iris Bahr, and Louis Herthum also star.

Extras include commentary with director Daniel Stamm and members of the cast, commentary with the film's producers, and the featurettes "The Devil You Know: The Making of The Last Exorcism" and "Real Stories of Exorcism." Also available on Blu-Ray Disc, which adds the featurette "Witness to an Exorcism: An Audio Commentary With a Haunting Victim, Deliverance Minister and Clinical Psychologist" and audition footage. Machete

Writer-director Robert Rodriguez's 2010 release "Machete" stars Danny Trejo stars as a Mexican ex-federale named Machete Cortez.  Fueled by memories of his personal tragedy, Machete seeks revenge against the man who once wronged him.  The film's all-star cast includes appearances from Robert DeNiro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, and Lindsay Lohan.

Extras include deleted scenes with never-before-seen characters. Also available as a two-disc Blu-Ray with digital copy. (Fox).

Howl

James Franco and Jon Hamm co-star in "Howl."  Writer-directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman present this look at controversial poet Alan Ginsberg, played by Franco.  The film includes an animated depiction of Ginsberg's work and a dramatization of his obscenity trial.  Hamm plays Ginsberg's attorney Jake Ehrlich.  Jeff Daniels, Mary Louise-Parker, and David Strathairn also star.

Extras include commentary by Epstein, Friedman, and Franco.  Also included is the featurette "Holy! Holy! Holy! The Making of Howl," original interviews with some of Ginsberg's friends and acquaintances, footage featuring Allen Ginsberg as he reads "Howl" at New York's Knitting Factory in 1995, and more.  Also available on Blu-Ray Disc, which adds footage of Ginsberg reading "Sunflower Sutra" and "Pull My Daisy," along with a Q&A with Epstein and Friedman conducted by John Cameron Mitchell. Case 39

Renee Zellweger stars in the psychological thriller "Case 39."  Zellweger plays Emily, a social worker whose life changes when she becomes emotionally-involved with one of her cases.  Jodelle Ferland, Ian McShane, Bradley Cooper, and Cynthia Stevenson also star.

Extras include the featurettes "Filed Under Evil: Inside Case 39," "Turning Up the Heat on the Chill Factor," and "Inside the Hornet's nest." Additional bonus features include deleted scenes and an alternate ending. Also available on Blu-Ray Disc. (Paramount).

Big Love: The Complete Fourth Season

The entire fourth season of HBO's polygamy drama "Big Love" is now on video.  This is the fourth and final season for Amanda Seyfried's character Sarah.  Also in season four, Bill risks everything to take a run at public office.  Bill Paxton, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chloe Sevigny, and Ginnifer Goodwin star.  This three-disc set features the season's nine episodes.

Extras include an "Inside the Episode" feature for each episode. (HBO).

Ticking Clock

Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Neal McDonough co-star in "Ticking Clock."  In this action-thriller, Gooding Jr. stars as a reporter who finds the diary of a murderer and decides to investigate his motives on his own.  Austin Abrams and Yancey Arias also star.

iCarly: Season 2, Volume 2

"iCarly: Season 2, Volume 2" is new to video today.  This series stars Miranda Cosgrove as Carly Shay, the young host of her own web series.  Jeannette McCurdy, Nathan Kress, and Jerry Trainor also star.  This two-disc set features 12 episodes.

Extras include the behind-the-scenes featurettes "Is That Me I See?" "Reed For 2 Minutes With Mandy," "Locker Tours" and "Doors to Nowhere." (Nick/Paramount).
