Ok, I'll spare you the agony of "So, what's your New Year's resolution?"  Frankly, I hate that question.  I also don't use the word "resolution" because it makes it WAY to easy to break. Instead, I set a new years INTENTION.  That way, when you INTEND to doing something, but fail, well at least the intent was there.  (Sneaky, I know....)

I'm super excited for 2013.  So much to look forward to.  I can't name examples, I just know looking FORWARD to something is much more exciting than looking BACKWARD and wondering what you would've done differently.  There's a reason the rear-view mirror is only a fraction of the size as your windshield....

However, there were a few New Year's traditions I spoke of this morning, that really bring back some fond memories.

When I was a kid, my mom would make a special New Year's Eve dinner for my big brother and I.  It was always spaghetti and meatballs, and the highlight was having Welch's Sparking Grape Juice to go with it....our version of champagne. My mom made it special by always putting a red and white checkered tablecloth, and having candle light.

I graduated to watching the Twilight Zone marathon every New Years....it's home is now on SyFy channel.  I've seen about every episode made....my favorites are those with Burgess Meredith and Telly Savalas.

My dad makes an ENORMOUS pot of French Onion Soup on New Year's Eve, and lets it sit out in the garage overnight so the flavors meld, and we would have fresh soup for dinner on New Year's Day.  No real rhyme or reason....just a tradition!

So, what are some of your traditions?  Are you setting INTENTIONS this year?

<3 LD
