I may have a Buffalo record for receiving the most scam phone calls in one single day. One time, I was scammed for a couple hundred dollars; and since that day, my phone number must have gotten placed on one of those lists.

New York State Senator Chuck Schumer is taking action on those scam, automated calls you may received. If you noticed that the no-call list has not been working, you were correct. Over 50 million people in New York from just two different area codes were called in April.

Now Schumer has a new plan to help stop that. According to New York Daily:

The New York Democrat plans to introduce legislation in the Senate that would require telecom companies to let their clients block the annoying calls. The proposed Repeated Objectionable Bothering of Consumers on Phones Act (ROBOCOP) Ac t would also force phone firms to label and block calls with fraudulent caller IDs.
