You'll remember the hot-button issue from last week – the new head of AMC Entertainment was proposing "text-friendly" movie theaters, claiming young people can't live without their phones for two hours.

Well, you don't have to worry about it happening (yet, anyway...).  They got so much backlash, they posted a Tweet on Friday saying it wasn't going to happen.

To me, the eternal marketing-skeptic, it sure seemed like a ploy to get us all talking about the AMC Movie Theaters. It worked.

Along the same note, there's a new device New York lawmakers want to introduce to monitor YOUR texting...but specifically while driving.

The "textalyzer" (named like the "breathalyzer") is a handheld device that attaches to phones to determine if any texts were sent or if calls were made before a crash (the device can't actually read the texts...it can just tell if one was sent or not). The device would be used in the investigation after an accident – much like a breathalyzer – to determine if texting or non-hands-free calls were made prior to it.

Governor Cuomo won't see the proposal until the entire legislature votes on it.

What would you think about the Cellebrite device?
