Like it or not Daredevil Nik Wallenda will wear a safety tether when he attempts to cross Niagara Falls via high wire on June 15th. Citing family history and tradition, Wallenda says this goes against his will but he is left with no alternative due to restrictions placed upon him by ABC, the network which will be broadcasting the event live. Earlier today (Monday) he practiced on a 1,200 foot cable under simulated high winds and misty conditions provided by Cataract City fire apparatus and air boats. According to Channel 4, Wallenda says a tether could be more dangerous than the wind and mist due to his inexperience using such equipment. He states according to his lawyers, its the only way its going to happen. He is still pushing ABC to change their mind but at this point the show will go on either way.
