Much is going on today, October 8, 2012. We celebrate Columbus Day, it's Thanksgiving in Canada AND lest we forget...it's "Fluffernutter Day"!

Yes, today we remember that wonderful treat that consist of peanut butter and Fluff, usually spread evenly upon 2 slices of white bread. The "Fluff" or marshmallow cream part actually dates back to the early 1900's,  but it was Durkee-Mower Inc. who named it Marshmallow Fluff. They continue to sell it under that name today. Incidentally, the name 'Fluffernutter' was created in 1960 by an advertising agency hired by the company to find a more effective way to market the peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich.

So have a Fluffernutter today...maybe add some bananas or your own special topping. Or perhaps you have a special recipe for cookies or cake you make with Marshmallow Fluff you'd like to share. Even better, just make it and drop it off at the station. Hey, can't blame a guy for trying! Actually, you can get some ideas at The Online Yummy Book.
