Orchard Park Middle School Closed Due To Illness [VIDEO]

All classes and activities at Orchard Park Middle School are cancelled for today, due to a rapid spread of sickness among the students and teachers.

Nearly 200 students and 12 teachers came down with flu-like symptoms, and the Erie County Health Department says it sounds like a case of norovirus. The virus is very common, but also highly contagious. The symptoms usually go away within 3-4 days.

Staff members at Orchard Park Middle School will work to disinfect and clean the entire school, including the buses, before school resumes on Monday, May 2nd.

All athletic events for the weekend are also cancelled.
