A popular Western New York donut shop was trending nationally on Saturday according to a story aired on WGRZ-TV.  Surprisingly enough it wasn't a national chain.

Food and Wine Magazine released its list of the best doughnuts in every state, and New York's best will be no surprise to Western New Yorkers and especially Buffalonians.

The magazine named long time local favorite Paula's Donuts the best doughnut in New York State, highlighting their cannoli doughnut as a favorite.

Paula's Donuts last year shared pictures on social media of construction of its new location set for Larkinville, saying that the Buffalo location was on track to open at the start of 2021.

Paula's current locations are in Tonawanda, Clarence, and West Seneca.

The Lakinville location will be Paula's first in Buffalo city limits.

The new Paula's will be situated on the first floor of the new Larkin Development Group's  6,000-square foot building with market-rate rental apartments on the second floor.

If this doesn't get your tastebuds working overtime...it may be worth a trip to one of Paula's locations.
