Memorial Day often gets lost in translation in the fact that the celebration aspect overlooks the overall meaning of the holiday.

Make sure to take a moment on Memorial Day to remember and respect those who have passed away while serving our country.

More often than not, the true reason for Memorial Day is lost on folks who are not closely tied to any casualties of war. But if you live in the United States and enjoy your many freedoms, you're absolutely tied to a stunningly large number of them.
Before you go play and barbecue over the three-day weekend later this month, I ask that folks take a moment to remember with respect, honor and a grateful heart those who have died serving our country. Pay your respects to the young and old who took up courage to leave family and friends and later perished, sometimes in a distant land. Just a thought...

Join me on the airwaves tonight, tomorrow night, and every night during this memorable month of May.
