I was checking my Facebook page and noticed a friend's post about free ice cream. Perry's Ice Cream. Hmmm, I had to investigate! Turns out, Perry's Ice Cream is marking the 35th anniversary of the Blizzard of 1977 with a contest to win free ice cream!

The "Weather Forecast is Calling for Zero Visibility"  contest simply asks for your Blizzard of '77 stories. The page is already loaded with memories of snow bound and snowed in Western New Yorkers. You can enter on Perry's Facebook Page.  A few winners have already been posted.

The anniversary of the beginning of the infamous "Blizzard of '77" is this Saturday.   USA Today  reports the blizzard belted Buffalo from January 28th through February 1, 1977. Twenty-nine people died in the blizzard which resulted in a federal disaster declaration leaving behind 300-million-dollars damage.
