What young ballplayer doesn't dream of playing in the World Series? Most of us have watched little league teams from near and far take the field vying for the title of "World Series Champs!"  This year, a team from Lancaster is in the running!

The Lancaster Red 10U (10 and under) travel team is heading for the Babe Ruth League Middle Atlantic Regional Tournament in Springford, PA (near Philadelphia). Red will play teams from Northwest and Southeast Pennsylvania, Eastern New York and New York City.  The boys won the honor after winning a close extra innings game over a Lou Gehrig team to become the "Western New York Champs."  If Lancaster advances in the Midwest Atlantic Regionals, they play teams from New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware with the goal of making it to the Championship Game on August 2nd. The winner proceeds to The Babe Ruth World Series (Cal Ripkin 10-year-old World Series)  August 13 - 20 in Virginia.
