Imagine having two children of your own, expecting a third, and deciding to open your heart and your home to three young girls who had been abused -- one of whom has no arms or legs.

Imagine just days after the adoption being finalized, still pregnant, being in emergency surgery to have two brain tumors removed, and being diagnosed with an incurable brain cancer.

Imagine making the choice to postpone your chemotherapy to give the baby in your belly a fighting chance.

That's all reality for Kim and Phil Vaillancourt of Tonawanda.  I watched their story on WGRZ as Melissa Holmes shared the information.  It made my problems seem so small.

Kim and Phil have been married for 15 years and have a strong faith that is keeping them going.

Kim has MRI's every two weeks, and this past week was clear.  It buys baby Wyatt Eli a couple more weeks to grow in her womb. The pregnancy is at 28 weeks.

The GoFundMe account to help pay for costs is over a staggering $123,000...would you expect anything less from wonderful Western New Yorkers?

The fantastic local t-shirt site 26 Shirts is kicking in next week too, highlighting the Vaillancourt.  T-shirts will be available for two weeks, with the proceeds going directly to the family.  The design will be released on Leap Day (Monday, February 29).

The family also has an account at First Niagara Bank.  Simply donate at any branch in the name of "Vaillancourt Benefit".

You can also follow the journey at their Stay "Kim Strong" Facebook page.

A benefit will also be held in April!
