For some reason, a principal at an elementary school in Coney Island told students that they were not allowed to perform Lee Greenwood's "God Bless The USA" during their graduation ceremony.

The principal explained that she told teachers to drop the song because "We don't want to offend other cultures"

Not sure how it would offend other cultures since all the students live in the USA if they are going to school here.  Seems to me that the principal is being over sensitive.  The flag does fly outside of the school, doesn't it?

My daughter had a recital this weekend.  Her class actually closed the show dancing to "God Bless The USA".  People were actually in tears over it.

Oh, by the way.  The kids will now perform Justin Bieber's "baby"
