Pears are everywhere you look. You can purchase just one or a bushel. Summer time is all about fruit and the fun food ideas you can do with them. Purchase  canned pears during the colder months.

  • 2  pear halves, remove seeds
  • 1/4 cup packed Dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • Directions

    1. Preheat the broiler.
    2. Arrange pear halves, cut-side up in a shallow baking dish. In a small dish, stir together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans. Sprinkle the mixture over the pears.
    3. Broil 3 inches from heat for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the topping is browned. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.  Garnish with a cinnamon stick
