Pears are an excellent dessert, poached, baked or just picked and eaten. Pears are always a great choice. Try this recipe of Gingered Pears. The use of fresh ginger gives the pear a sweet and spicy kick. Garnish with a little caramel sauce and whip cream.
Ingredients

  • 4 medium ripe pears, peeled, quartered and cored
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup brown
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, place pears, ginger and sugar in water. Cover and cook over medium heat for 25-30 minutes or until tender. Turn the pears over.
  2.  Garnish pears with whip cream, ginger and caramel sauce.
