CNN Reports: Rep. Anthony Weiner has announced his resignation from Congress.

Rep. Anthony Weiner resigned from office Thursday, saying,

"Unfortunately, the distraction that I have created" has made it "impossible" to continue his work in Congress.

Weiner, who represented New York’s 9th District, admitted earlier this month that he had sent lewd images and messages over the Internet.
