It is a given that college graduates make more money. In fact, according to a new OECD study the average college graduate in America earns over $20,000 a year more than their counterparts without a degree, making the United States one of the best countries in the world to have completed college.

But it turns out there are even more benefits to college.

The OECD report, which looked at 18 highly-industrialized countries, also found that folks who have completed college live two years longer and are more likely to vote and to support equal rights for minorities.

Furthermore the unemployment rate among college grads in the OECD region is 4.7 percent, whereas the rate for those who have just have high school degree is at about 7.2 percent.

Now, go hit those books.
