Retailers Get Banned From Opening Thanksgiving Day

I think they whole idea of opening stores the day of thanksgiving in order to give retailers a jump on Black Friday is quite ridiculous. But, it is what it is. Though a few states have banned retailers from opening up at all on the day of Thanksgiving.

Perhaps it had to do something with the girl that said threw a fit about working for Target on Thanksgiving last week, or the Wal-Mart warning their employees not to go on strike for working on holidays recently. But, Maine, Massachusetts and Rhode Island law makers have axed the idea of any retailers opening up Thanksgiving Day. For once, I don't think that's quite a bad lawmaking decision. Though, in Western New York you can expect the early go-ahead from stores like Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Sears and KMart all expecting their bargain hunters at 8 p.m. Target will be right behind opening their doors at 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving night.

Now, I usually work Thanksgiving which works great for me. I get to run out of the studio and go straight to the stores where I find myself buying things that are just great deals and truly do not even need. Last year, I popped into Wal-Mart on my way home through a bunch of stuff into the cart (which I didn't need) and went home. A few days later when I went to open the camera that I bought,  I thought "Wow this box feels light". Sure enough, the stupid camera wasn't even in the box. So now I'm in a situation where, how do I tell Wal-Mart I bought an empty box and it wasn;t really me who stole their camera. Haha. Well.....suprisingly, they gave me my money back. With a reciept of course.
