When you are an air personality one of the jobs you hate to do is to report bad news. Today I had the sad task of telling our listeners that we lost Rick Martin, the former Sabres great and part of the famous "French Connection". He died today after an apparent heart attack which resulted in a one car accident. He was 59.

When I first heard "car accident", I couldn't help but remember another Sabres great...Tim Horton, who died in a vehicle crash well before his time. Though I won't forget having to announce Rick Martins death today, I prefer to remember all the great memories he gave us during his hockey career (just a few of so many in this video) and the wonderful things he did for charities and our community too. Gone, but never forgotten...and always a member of the Buffalo Sabres. Rest in peace #7.
