Is the third time the charm? This afternoon the Buffalo Board of Education will consider the fate of Superintendent James A. Williams. This will be the third time they’ve sat down to consider the matter.

What’s changed over the last three months? Certainly not the Proficiency scores. This week the state Education Department told us that less then one quarter of grades 3-8 scored at or above grade level in English! When I saw these statistics I was stunned! Whether or not you have a child in the school system,  it’s embarrassing for all of us. And certainly not good for the kids.

What has changed is the politics of the matter. Now Buffalo Teachers Federation President Phil Rumore says it’s time for Williams to leave the school system.

It seems like the pressure is getting turned up. So what do you think?  Is today the day the board terminates Williams contract? Leave me your comments.
