Scotch Nog Stars

2/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup eggnog
1 egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup hard butterscotch candies


1 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar
1/4 tsp. rum extract
2-3 tbsp. eggnog

In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggnog and egg.

In a separate bowl, combine all dry ingredients. Gradually mix with creamed mixture. Chill in fridge overnight. On lightly floured surface, roll out cookie dough to 1/4-inch thickness, cut with a large star and place on greased, foil-lined cookie sheets.

Cut out the center of cookies with smaller cookie cutter. Place 1 tsp. of candy in the center of each cookie. Bake 375 for 6-8 minutes. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes.

For frosting: Beat all ingredients until at a drizzle consistency, and drizzle over cooled cookies.
