Hey, it's Heather Davis, and I chose Tammy Comerate’s Sea Salt and Caramel Treasures. I recently discovered the deliciousness of caramel and sea salt together, and now it is my most favorite food EVER!

Sea Salt and Caramel Treasures
Approx. 6 dozen

7 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 cups butter (room temperature)
2 tsp. vanilla
8 oz. semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
4 tbsp. milk
2 bags of caramels (make sure you unwrap them)
2 tbsp. of butter
2 tsp. coarse sea salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Use UNGREASED cookie sheets.

Beat 3 cups butter with mixer until creamy. Add vanilla and sugar until blended. Mix in flour on low speed until combined.

Divide dough in half and roll each portion to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with round cookie cutter or glass. Bake 12 minutes or until just barely light golden. DO NOT OVER-BAKE. Cool on cooling racks.

While cookies are cooling, microwave caramels and milk until melted. Cook uncovered on high or medium, depending on your microwave, for about 2 minutes, but stir every 30 seconds to heat evenly.

Use this caramel mixture to "frost" your cookies.

Melt chocolate and 2 tablespoons butter either in microwave or double boiler until melted. Drizzle over the cookies on top of caramel, and then sprinkle with sea salt.
