They're trying to put salt in the wound to stop the bleeding...FAST.

The parent company who owns Sears + Kmart have about 100 stores that are not making any money and plan to close another 72 stores. If you're counting that's about 8% of what is left of the company. If you're doing the math--there's only 900 stores remaining.

There is no word on what will happen just yet with the remaining couple Sears in the Western New York area.

(It's also unclear what the parents company will do with the other 28 or so nonprofitable stores that they still have.)

One could assume that between the increase in online selling and convenient shopping on the phone have contributed heavily to the decline in mall traffic.
