WIVB TV reports this afternoon that State Senator Mark Grisanti and his wife were involved in an altercation Friday night. The incident reportedly occurred with Seneca Nation members after an event at the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls.

According to unnamed sources Grisanti tried to stop an argument among Seneca Nation members at a downstairs bar following the event. Grisanti was punched in the ribs and in the back of the head. Grisanti's wife, Maria,who subsequently entered the altercation was tackled by two women. The Senator was not treated, and his wife received medical attention at a local hospital.

One person was arrested and another is being sought in relation to the incident.
