UPDATE (1/9):The audio for Shakira's original track for Disney's Zootopia (March 4) is here! "Try Everything" is a euphoric slice of feel-good topical pop with an uplifting message that resonates with the energy and spirit of the upcoming animated animal flick. Listen to the upbeat, spirited track below:

Colombian pop star Shakira is known for having one of the most recognizable and unique singing voices in the music business, so it's no wonder that the former judge of The Voice U.S. has been tapped by Disney to star in the company's upcoming animal-themed animated flick, Zootopia.

The "Can't Remember To Forget You" signer is set to play Gazelle, a beautiful, famous pop star in the land of Zootopia (and who is, obviously, an anthropomorphic gazelle with effortlessly chic eye-liner and hips that don't lie). The casting was revealed during the D23 Expo Animation Panel on Friday August 14 in Anaheim, CA. Shakira is joining a star-powered voice cast that already includes Horrible Bosses' Jason Bateman (who will play a wily, smooth-talking fox character) and One Upon A Time's Ginnifer Goodwin (who will play a straight-laced meter-maid bunny character by the name of Judy).

In addition to voicing the glitzy character, Shakira will also contribute vocals on an all-new original pop song for the film's soundtrack, titled "Try Everything." The track was co-written by Sia and Stargate, and considering Disney's previous mega-hit with "Let It Go," there's always the possibility that "Try Everything" could become a potential radio cross-over hit for the studio as well.

Zootopia, which is due for release on March 2, 2016, is being directed by Tangled's Byron Howard and Wreck-It Ralph's Rich Moore, so we're sure the Disney studio has another hit on their hands/hooves/claws.
