It looks like the Lake Effect machine is warming up to bring a blast of the cold white stuff our way mid week, through this weekend.

According to WGRZ, "On Wednesday morning, winds will align over Lake Erie and begin to generate bands of lake effect snow. Initially, the snow will be light to moderate, but later Wednesday through Thursday, snowfall rates may intensify and make travel very difficult."

The National Weather Service has already issued a Winter Storm Watch for Norther Erie and Genesee counties, from late Tuesday night through late Thursday night. NWS warning calls for, "Heavy lake effect snow possible. Travel will be very difficult at times, including the morning and evening commute on Wednesday. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 24 inches are possible in the most persistent lake snows."
