In the mood for trying out some new tunes?

90s grunge artist Beck is releasing new music with a more folk and eccentric sound which is sure to widen your musical tastes.

I am not the kind of person who can sit for very long in peace and quiet - mostly because the children and animals treading thru my home won't allow for that. But if I were the kind of person who could sit for a little while in solitude and reflection, I might put on Beck's new album, Morning Phase, to carry my busy mind into a more mellow state of being.

Beck has grown up a lot from his grunge beginnings in the early 90s and put out a more folk-dream-eccentric sound in this album that is slow and smooth. One of those tracks, called "Morning", makes me think of two quarreling lovers who wake up to a new day with the desire to start fresh in their love...

Woke up this morning, found a love light in the storm
Looked up this morning, saw the roses full of thorns
Guns are falling, they don't have nowhere to go
Oceans of diamonds always shine, smooth out below

Can we start it all over again, this morning?
I lost all my defenses, this morning
Won't you show me the way it used to be?

I've gone all around 'til there's nothing left to say
Wrote it all down into something that couldn't be said
I tore it all down and buried me underneath the wave

Can we start it all over again, this morning?
I let down my defenses, this morning
It was just you and me, this morning
I fought all my guesses, this morning
Won't you show me the way it could've been

Who is it that you need to start fresh with today? Maybe you need to hear the song for a little added encouragement to make things new and fresh again in your relationship. Go to iTunes if you want to download Morning Phase right now. Or, if you're a bit old school - and that's perfectly alright - you can purchase the CD and vinyl at Amazon.com.
