Soothing Subway “Savage Beasts” [VIDEO]

There may be something to that old line about music soothing savage beasts after all.

Buffalo is one of many cities that plays classical music in its subway stations. There are supposedly several reasons for the practice, but a big one is said to be that classical music reputedly calms down possibly rowdy riders [classical music isn't the only kind that works; in Australia, they play Barry Mantilow. There was a time when we'd actually have been very upset by that. That time, though, was more than a few years ago...].

I bet you'd think England wouldn't need the calming cultural help. But they do use it in a few places. Newcastle, for instance;
