Buffalo Police made a weekend arrest following a stand-off on Clinton Street in the Kaisertown neighborhood.

The incident began early Saturday morning when police responded to a shooting at the intersection of Clinton and Weaver Street. The victim, 28-year-old Nicholas Jozens of Williamsville, was transported to ECMC where he later died.

Following the shooting, the Buffalo SWAT and Crisis Management Teams were called to the same area around 11:30A.M., where police believe that 44-year-old Victor Irizarry barricaded himself inside a building, with a gun, in the 1900 block of Clinton Street.

During the stand-off, police gathered information leading them to a garage on Barnard Street, where Irizarry was thought to be hiding. The garage was surrounded with the help of South District Officers, and Irizarry surrendered around 1:30P.M.

Victory Irizarry was taken into custody, and has been charged with murder in the 2nd degree for the fatal shooting of Nicholas Jozens.
