Stranded WNYers at Airport in Ft. Lauderdale [VIDEO]

Yesterday news broke of a mass shooting at the Airport in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, among those caught in the chaos are a few WNYers. According to WGRZ Sandy Schoellkopf and her family spent at least 7 hours waiting on the tarmac.

She had been in the bathroom in the terminal when she heard the sounds of people running and screaming.

"And so we all went down the stairwell, but it was chaotic. People were pushing, and now we're standing on the tarmac and we've been out here now for a long time. People abandoned purses and personal items and just ran out of the terminal."

Sandy and her family were able to make it into the terminal after the 7 hours of waiting. She sent WGRZ some videos of the incident that she captured on her phone! Check it out in the video above!
