Super Bowl XLVIII is less than a week away. Now that both the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks have arrived in the New York metropolitan area, let’s take a look at some fast facts about Sunday’s game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. (6:30 p.m. ET on Fox):

The Teams

• Super Bowl XLVIII will mark the first time two teams who were members of the same division in the AFC will meet in a Super Bowl. Both the Broncos and the Seahawks played against each other in the AFC West from 1977-2001.

• This is the first time in Super Bowl history that an offense ranked first in points and yards (Broncos) will oppose a defense leading the league in fewest points and yards allowed (Seahawks).

• The Seahawks won their first playoff game in franchise history by beating Denver, 31-7, in 1983. The Broncos’ 34-18 record against Seattle represents the most wins by any Seahawks opponent.

• Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, 37, will oppose Seahawks’ QB Russell Wilson, 25. The 12-year age gap is the largest between starting Super Bowl quarterbacks, topping the 10-year gap between Ben Roethlisberger and Kurt Warner in Super Bowl XLIII.

• Denver quarterback Peyton Manning will be the only player in this game with a Super Bowl ring; no player on the Seahawks roster has even played in a Super Bowl.

• If Seattle wins, Pete Carroll will join Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer as the only head coaches to win both an NCAA championship and Super Bowl. Carroll led USC to the 2004 national title which was later vacated as a result of NCAA violations.

• With the Giants and Jets both watching from home instead of playing at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, Super Bowl XLVIII continues the 48-year streak of no NFL team ever playing in a Super Bowl on its home field.

• The Federal Aviation Administration expects 1,200 additional private jet flights near New York City in the days leading up to Super Bowl XLVIII. Normally, no more than 400 private jet takeoffs and landings are scheduled in a typical day.

If a winter storm threatens Sunday’s game, the NFL needs 24 hours to move the game time, 36 hours to change the day on which the game will be held and 48 hours of notice or prep time to make the changes.

• The record for coldest Super Bowl kickoff temperature is 39 degrees, set in New Orleans in 1972. The 1982 Super Bowl, held inside the Silverdome in Pontiac, Mich., holds the record for the coldest game day temperature, with a high of 16 and a low of 5 outside the dome.

• Seventeen of the 47 Super Bowls played (36%) have had a trace or more of rainfall on the field on the day of the game. The 2007 Super Bowl game in South Florida set the precipitation record when .92 inches of rain fell on the Colts (featuring Peyton Manning) and Bears.

• Snow has fallen on two Super Bowl cities — Pontiac, Mich. in 1982 and Detroit in 2006 — but never on a non-domed venue during the game.

• Advertisers will pay Fox up to a record $4.5 million for a 30-second commercial spot on the Super Bowl XLVIII broadcast. More than 105 million viewers have watched each of the last four Super Bowl games.
