As summer comes to an end and fall days approach, we learn to transition to sweater weather and drinking the typical hot cider or cocoa.

As Delilah explains, this is a time of winding down from all of the summer excitement.

O sweet September, thy first breezes bring
The dry leaf's rustle and the squirrel's laughter,
The cool fresh air whence health and vigor spring
And promise of exceeding joy hereafter.
~ George Arnold, September Days
This month we enter that time where summer gets muddled with fall and familiar routines are a welcome change after a summer of adventuring. Just as we begin to feel weary from all that excitement, September brings us back to all the comforts of home. There's something peaceful about this period of winding down and settling in to the cooler seasons. I, for one, will be enjoying hot tea again and searching for my cozy slippers...

Welcome back, September days.

~ Delilah
