We made "Taco in a Bag" for dinner the other night!  It's a quick easy meal or snack we first tried at the concession stand when my kids were in cheerleading and football.  Never heard of it?  While, then you're in for a real treat!

Anyone who's kids have been involved in cheerleading or football has surely heard of "Taco in a Bag."  It's sold at nearly every concession stand in every town the kids have played in through the years, but I rarely see it anywhere else.  We have started making it at home though and my kids love it!

What you will need:

  • Small, individual size bags of Doritos
  • Taco seasoning
  • Ground Beef
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Sour Cream, Salsa or any other toppings you generally like on your tacos.

If you've ever made a taco at home, then just follow the same recipe.  Brown the beef and drain it.  Mix in the taco seasoning.

Crush the bag of Doritos. Yes, you want the chips broken up into bite size pieces.  Open the bag when your done and spoon a layer of taco meat on top of the crushed Doritos.

Sprinkle on cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, salsa or anything else you generally like on your tacos.

(Cheryl's Tip:  Add a second layer of meat, cheese, etc....  I think it helps with flavoring, and gives you a better mix of the ingredients with every bite.)

Grab a fork and you're ready to go!  It's a fun meal for the kids, and they can really take it right out the door with them if necessary!
