Superhero films are really into the whole “choose a side” thing this year. Batman and Superman, the X-Men and Apocalypse (okay, that’s easy — Oscar Isaac and Michael Fassbender’s side, obviously), and the most brutal super-battle of them all: Iron Man and Captain America. Civil War is coming, and while the trailers have given us plenty to consider in the fight between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, Marvel’s latest batch of images gives us more to contemplate.

Well, we’ve got some good news for you: it’s time to start getting excited about the next Marvel movie. Captain America: Civil War may be seven months away, but the trailer is set to debut with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Who can wait until December 18 though? Stars Robert Downey, Jr. and Chris Evans will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight to maybe, possibly debut the Captain America: Civil War trailer.

With Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans promising a big surprise on Jimmy Kimmel Live, we knew it had to be something special — that something is the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War. Not a teaser, but an actual, full trailer, dramatically highlighting the growing divide between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark, which will divide the Avengers and pit them against one another in what could be Marvel's most epic film yet.

And now the cast of Paul Feig’s new Ghostbusters movie have been inspired to use their fame for good, visiting the kids at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

Before Iron Man became a hit, the original plan was for the Captain America movie to be funny, because they didn't know if audiences could take Cap seriously. The man they wanted to direct? Jon Favreau, the man who would eventually direct the first two Iron Man movies. There’s a lot to like about Avengers: Age of Ultron, but the coolest thing about it is the way it reclaims the comic book part of the phrase “comic-book movie.” Rather than using these characters to do something “edgy” or “adult” or “important,” or sanding down their quirkier edges to appeal to as broad and mainstream an audience as possible, Age of Ultron doubles down on its source material’s geeky origins.

Avengers 2 doesn't open for another few weeks, but deep inside Marvel headquarters they've already begun turning their attention to the next big movie: Captain America: Civil War. Frequently referred to as Avengers 2.5 because of the sheer amount of superheroes packed into this one film — Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Falcon, Black Panther, Spider-Man and Hawkeye are all confirmed to star — the third Captain America movie might be the biggest superhero film yet. As Marvel gets ready to begin filming, a casting call has given us our first look at the film's plot.
