Weekend Update has been a staple of 'Saturday Night Live' ever since the show's first season in 1975, and as part of the 40th Anniversary Special, 'SNL' recognized the weekly news parody with a tribute led by Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Jane Curtin.

NBC has been surprisingly quiet about ‘SNL’'s impending 40th anniversary special, but VH1 has upped the nostalgia ante in a major way. VH1 Classic will begin a 19-day marathon of ‘SNL’'s 40 years on January 28, working backwards through 433 episodes and staging themed mini-marathons along the way.

Here is a brief list of things that happened during Jennifer Lawrence's appearance on 'The Late Show' last night: she sang with host David Letterman, the duo discussed tummy troubles, they chatted about bowling, they both totally biffed introducing a clip, Lawrence begged Letterman to not retire, they walked out during a live taping, and then Lawrence took over the entire show.

Lady Gaga returns to the 'SNL' stage tonight as both host and musical guest! No surprise there, since Gaga's success is largely thanks to her ability to perform. She can sing, she can dance, and she really knows how to work a stage ... but can she, you know, act?
