Current Brooklyn Nine-Nine star and former SNL star Andy Samberg started off the 2015 Emmys in hilarious fashion. After an opening musical number reminiscent of the Lonely Island / SNL digital shorts, Samberg took the stage to warm up the crowd and remind everyone that no, Justin Timberlake wasn’t going to show up.
In order to properly prepare for his hosting gig at the 2015 Emmy Awards, Andy Samberg locked himself away in a bunker for over a year and watched every television show ever.
At last year’s Emmys, Jimmy Kimmel sent a message to Tracy Morgan, who had been hospitalized in a coma following a traffic accident that killed one of Morgan’s friends and fellow comedians. “Shout out to Tracy Morgan, we’ll see you next year, Tracy,” Kimmel told the audience at the time. 'Breaking Bad' may be over, but there's still plenty of love to go around for the series at tonight's 2014 Emmy Awards, as Bryan Cranston has just been given the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Other nominees included Oscar winners Kevin Spacey for 'House of Cards' and Matthew McConaughey for 'True Detective.'
While most people appearing on stage at the 2014 Emmy Awards bent over backwards to be polite and respectable and as totally inoffensive as possible, comedian Billy Eichner doesn't care! The internet video celebrity and 'Parks and Recreation' co-star brought his delightful 'Billy on the Streets' series to the stodgy ceremony and now the rest of the show has to live up to it.
It was another emotional tribute this year for the 'In Memoriam' Emmys segment, which was made especially tough with the recent death of Robin Williams.
