High Wind Warning

The forecast is calling for damaging winds in excess of 55 mph!

The National Weather Service Buffalo has issued several warnings and advisories for Western New York

Winds picking up across the area into early Wednesday. Light to moderate rain showers will develop around daybreak with periods of heavy downpours at times.

They've been assessing the forecast, and planning for days. National Grid and NYSEG, can't just react, when they hear severe weather is on the way. Their need to prepare, preposition assets, just like the military would when preparing for a confrontation.

We all know how quickly weather can change in Western New York. We also know the last few days we have been warned of a severe wind event that is expected tomorrow, Sunday 2/24.
