While there is no snow yet on the ground in Western New York, ski and snowboard season is just around the corner and you can gear up this weekend and save some money.
The week between Christmas and New Year's is one of the busiest weeks of the year for ski slopes and if you are trying to go the day-of, you might want to check before you head out there because the past few days have been completely sold out ahead of time.
It will be the greenest run of the year in Buffalo, New York. Approximately 6,000 runners in different divisions will take to the streets this Saturday morning in the Shamrock Run. The Post-Race Party is happening at the Old 1st Ward Community Center on Republic Street in Buffalo. There will be refreshments and beer in the beer tent. Non-runners get in for $10. Hungry? We already knew we had great options in Western New York for skiing, but how about this! An article in Biz Journals mentions that Ski Magazine ranks Holiday Valley in Cattaraugus County, was ranked third in North America, trailing only Mont Tremblant in Quebec and Vermont’s Stowe resort!
