Hurricane Irene

When I lived in Eastern NC, the roads used to flooded all the time. The "stream" behind my old radio station used to become a pond after a heavy rain, and when Hurricane Irene blew through, we had 4 inches of water in our building.

Now that Irene has come and gone we are starting to see the images of her wake.  Heavy damage has been reported all up and down the east coast from North Carolina to Maine.  More than 20 deaths have now been attributed to Irene and damage estimates are expected to be in the billions of dollars.

Today's technology produces some amazing things. cnn.com has a section called i-reports. Where viewers can upload video.  It produces some interesting videos, and hurricane Irene produced several. This one is my favorites.

Hurricane Irene is on her way and preliminary reports suggests she’ll be a big one. To get an idea of just how big though, check out this aerial video of Irene filmed from the International Space Station as it passed over the Eastern seaboard.
