SNL Preview: Jonah Hill and Kate McKinnon Get Their Crocs Shined

SNL took a little break through the second half of February (thankfully, the GOP race has largely filled in for itself), but will return for its March 2016 debut with Hail, Caesar! star Jonah Hill, and musical guest Future. Go on, enjoy Jonah getting his shoes shined, then. What can you do, not watch?

SNL Sets Ariana Grande as Host and Musical Guest for March

SNL has had a steady 2016 with hosts like Adam Driver, Larry David and Melissa McCarthy, but is March looking a little ho-hum? Following Jonah Hill and Future on March 5, SNL confirms that actor/singer Ariana Grande will pull double duty as both host and musical guest for the following week.

Larry David Kills It On SNL [VIDEO]

Larry David did it again!  As host of last week's Saturday Night Live, he did another sketch impersonating Democratic Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders and absolutely killed it in a "Curb Your Enthusiasm" style (the show that Larry David wrote and starred in on HBO.

Great stuff here.  I laughed til I cried.  Video credit to Saturday Night Live via YouTube.

SNL Preview: Larry David Curbs Your Enthusiasm to Watch Live

Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David has been no stranger to SNL in recent months, between the 40th Anniversary and his Bernie Sanders impression, but this Saturday will be a well-deserved homecoming for the former staff writer. Or not, as David doesn’t really want you to watch anyway, judging by the first promos.

SNL Takes on the #OscarsSoWhite Controversy, Nails It

When the 2016 Oscar nominations were announced nearly two weeks ago, the response to the overwhelmingly white line-up of talent proved instantly controversial. Film fans and industry veterans alike gathered around the #OscarsSoWhite hashtag to make their voices heard, especially decrying how films starring black actors and directed by black filmmakers — like Creed and Straight Outta Compton — somehow managed to only receive nominations for the white people involved in making them. With material this ripe, of course SNL was going to take a swipe at the Academy Awards this week.

SNL: Darrell Hammond’s Donald Trump and Tina Fey’s Sarah Palin, Together at Last

The moment former Alaskan governor and 2008 Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin endorsed Donald Trump for President of the United States, you know the producers at SNL hurried to get Tina Fey on the phone. The beloved former cast member, who just hosted the show last month, famously took on the role of Palin eight years ago and many people believe that her scathing imitation actually did lasting harm to the real Palin’s political chances. In any case, this event allowed SNL to pair Fey’s Palin with Darrell Hammond‘s Trump. Thanks, reality!

SNL Ranked: Ronda Rousey Gets Unfairly Sidelined

Like Dwayne Johnson and Gina Carano before her, Ronda Rousey is graduating from the ring to the stage, though her turn as SNL host this weekend is the first time she’s really had an opportunity to flex her acting muscles. Unfortunately, the MMA pro is sidelined for much of the episode, her talents underestimated and misused from the moment she walks into Studio 8H. Beck Bennett is seemingly the only cast member who really knows how to take advantage of her skill set, delivering the best sketches of the night. The lack of actual effort to give her something to do does little to disprove the idea that SNL invited Rousey to host based almost entirely on brand recognition. And that’s really too bad. Read on for our ranking of this week’s sketches from best to worst.

SNL Makes Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren an ‘Undercover Boss’ on Starkiller Base

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Adam Driver hosting 2016’s first episode of SNL, a Kylo Ren sketch of some kind was inevitable. After all, you don't get the actor who plays the villain in one of the biggest movies of all time to appear on your comedy variety show and not have him reprise that character. And we'll give the show this much: we never would have predicted a faux episode of Undercover Boss set on Starkiller Base, with the angry, murderous Kylo Ren going undercover amongst his troops as a radar technician named Matt.

SNL: Adam Driver and Cecily Strong Recreate ‘Aladdin’ for Some Reason

We’re not entirely sure why SNL decided to riff on Disney’s Aladdin in this week’s episode. It’s not like the 1992 animated movie has entered the national conversation again for some reason. If anything, this feels like someone on the writing staff rewatched the movie with his or her family over the show’s holiday break and came back with an idea or two. The result: the least timely parody you’ve ever seen! Although it is pretty funny and will appeal directly to those click-happy millennials.

SNL Unites Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton With Amy Poehler’s Hillary Clinton (and Adds Tina Fey’s Sarah Palin for Good Measure)

It’s a testament to the staying power of certain public figures that they’ve been played by more than one SNL cast member over the years. People like Hillary Clinton, the former First Lady turned former Senator turned former Secretary of State turned current Democratic Presidential frontrunner, linger on long past Saturday Night Live cast rotations. So what is the show to do when one of its guest hosts used to play a vital and very much in the public eye politician back in the day? Put her on stage with the current version, of course.
