The major blizzard that lasted from January 28 to February 1, 1977, was dubbed the Blizzard of '77 in Buffalo. Daily peak wind gusts ranging from 46 to 69 mph were recorded by the National Weather Service Buffalo Office with snowfall as high as 100 inches.
It's ...
Western New York saw some record-breaking snow in November that was dubbed 'Snowvember' by Western New Yorkers. It was featured by national news outlets, celebrities wished us luck and people prayed for us, but nobody will understand how much snow really was on the ground until they live here and know what it normally looks like...
This is from New Hampshire, but it's EXACTLY the same here in Buffalo. I know once we hit 41 degrees, I had the sunroof open.
This guy NAILS it. It's just SO TRUE.

Attacking fellow motorists with baseball bats, pounding on the snow plow with your shovel and even slashing the tires of the guy who just stole the parking spot you just dug out. This is what's being called 'Snow Rage.' It can happen to even the calmest person.
Boston is facing similar weather conditions we are here....but with additional accumulations....and apparently, lightning.
Which is like...WICKED awesome in the meteorological arena, apparently.
This will most likely be the coldest weekend of 2015. Weather forecasters are calling for temperatures to plummet to depths not reached here in years. Meteorologists say a Siberian air mass will gather around the North Pole and reach into Western New York over the weekend.
Ya think you've seen everything....how about a guy walking down a highway NAKED during a blizzard in Detroit. Well, he WAS wearing a cowboy hat. Which is good, considering they say you lose most of your heat through your head. (???)
...
While a good chunk of the country is battling frigid temperatures, the Phoenix area seems to be in the midst of a heat wave that would make the sun feel like chillier than the Good Humor man's freezer.
I can't begin to tell you how many times I've said to people during nasty weather, "I'm from Buffalo, no problem." Well, when a reporter asked someone in Boston why they weren't wearing heavier clothing, his response was, "I'm used to this, I'm from Buffalo." Right on!
Thermometers across the country are falling quicker than a bad stock, but just because the temperature is low doesn’t mean you should feel that way, too.
If you haven't noticed, the coldest weather of the year is upon us, and it looks like it's gonna stick around for the week. We'll probably get some lake effect snow and a couple of rounds of more widespread snow, but it's the harsh temperatures and wind chills that have WNY bundling up this week.
