Imitation: The sincerest form of flattery, and the most surefire way to meet Taylor Swift.

A 19-year-old Australian woman named Olivia Sturgiss, who bears a striking resemblance to the 1989 singer, has attracted frenzied attention for her look online, where her pal Kristy Lee routinely post images that could easily be confused for photos of the pop star. And Sturgiss told BuzzFeed Australia that when she cut and lightened her hair to match Swift's most recent 'do, fans began to sincerely mistake her for Swift on the street.

(Go ahead: take a good, hard look at the image above, or this one here, or this one here, and tell us you can ably discern between the two.)

"It took us an hour to walk a 10-minute trip because once I stopped for one photo, 20 others would ask," Sturgiss told BuzzFeed in reference to a recent outing. "It was crazy."

That was just the beginning, though. When Swift's ears began burning, and she caught wind of Sturgiss' adventure, she invited the teenager backstage at her recent Melbourne show. And that, ladies and gents, is how Taylor Swift met Taylor Swift 2.0.

What's more, the ladies were able to deeply connect during the brief encounter.

"I wanted to thank her for everything she’s done and tell her that her song ‘The Best Day’ helped me through my mum’s passing this October from uterine cancer and she quickly lit up and said, ‘I saw your post on Tumblr!'" Sturgiss recalled to BuzzFeed. "'That’s why you’re here! I’m so, so, sorry you had to go through that and I’m sorry I couldn’t play that song.’"
